Daisyette

Daisyette is another example of my absolute fascination with paper doll clothes.  The original Daisy was the make-believe doll of a make-believe girl named Lettie Lane.  Lettie was a paper doll in the Ladie’s Home Journal, and in 1911 the magazine offered to “bring Daisy to life” with a real doll, for any little girl who could sell four magazine subscriptions.  Today we enjoy Daisy’s smaller reproduction, Daisyette, created as a playmate for Bleuette.  And I have enjoyed making patterns for the clothes originally featured in the Lettie Lane paper doll pages as Daisy’s wardrobe.  In fact, this has been something of an adventure for me which began many years ago when I decided not only to recreate the clothes, but to do it in all antique fabrics (with antique linings and trims as well as hat decorations!)  It’s been unbelievable fun, as a treasure hunt, and as a sewing project.  Now I can share part of that joy with you by offering Daisyette’s patterns here at Londonberries...
